Who Am I?

I don’t care if you are sick or healthy. I don’t plan for the future. I don’t think and I don’t judge. I don’t care if you are hurting or if you are happy. All I do is respond to survive. I make thousands of perfect survival responses every instant of your life. You may like the results of these responses and call it ‘health’. Or you may not like the results and call it ‘ill-health’. I don’t care whether you like the responses or not. Survival of this instant is my only goal. Not survival later today, or next week, or next year. Survival now. I was designed to survive. I wasn’t designed to be sick or well. I will be the accumulation of stresses that have been imposed upon me.

Who am I?

Your body.

Osteoporosis, heart disease, cancer, arthritis, diabetes and other ailments can all be traced to the body’s attempts to survive. They can also all be traced to an inherent deficiency on the raw materials required to get the survival job done. ……. the body doesn’t care whether you like the results of its survival efforts or not. When you eat, drink, breathe, exercise, rest and think, you elicit a response from your body. So ‘health’ and ‘disease’ can be termed effects of your body’s responses. Diarrhea, vomiting, colds, flu, arthritis, osteoporosis and diabetes may not be anyone’s idea of a good time, but these dramatic conditions are the result of the body’s response to a stimulus. …… if you don’t like the body’s response, change the stimulus.

These kinds of conditions are some of the potential resultant fruits that stem from deeper root causes within a person. I’ll be discussing more about this in subsequent articles, but I’ll leave you with this to consider:

My son, listen to my words;
  Incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not depart from your eyes;
  Guard them in the midst of your heart;
For they are life to those who find them,
  And healing to all their flesh. – Prov 4:20-22
